A Look Back at Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”

July 5, 2009 by Lynn

It’s a testament to the success that Michael Jackson achieved in his lifetime that the news is dominated by the events surrounding his untimely death. He was an amazing talent and the affect he had on music & dance will be seen for decades to come.

In this clip, Hollywood 411 takes a look at Michael’s rise to the top of the charts with multiple songs on his album Thriller and even the fact that he was honored at the White House by President Reagan for his work. I’m not one to exploit the passing of a legend, but wanted to share this tribute with the rest of his fans. He will be missed by so many of us.

Remembering Michael Jackson: A Legend is Gone

If you’re like me, you enjoyed Thriller when it first came out and was played all over MTV. Yes, that was back when only music videos played on MTV…ahhh! Those were the days. ;-)

Thriller and so many of the songs on the album (I actually bought it on vinyl!!) were instant hits and Michael Jackson’s music was pervasive everywhere for decades. He invented the Moon Walk dance step and many other styles of dance that have evolved into modern hip-hop and other dance styles. He revolutionized music and dance for an entire generation.

Yes, he’s been haunted by scandals, but now they should all be laid to rest. A great music icon is gone. How very sad.

Rest in Peace, Michael. You’ll always remain in our hearts.

Bret Michaels Injury Update

June 16, 2009 by Lynn

Last week, we saw that Bret Michaels and his band Poison performed as part of the Tony Awards Show. At the end of the performance, Bret missed his mark on stage and was knocked flat by a huge prop on the stage.

The incident looked pretty horrible from our point of view, but thankfully, Bret’s nose wasn’t broken and his injuries were minor. I’m sure he felt pretty sore and miserable for several days afterward, but the good news is that he’s doing well. Thank goodness!

You can see photos of Bret’s facial injuries from the mishap at the Tony Awards on his MySpace site.

Bret Michaels Flattened on Stage!

June 8, 2009 by Lynn

In case you have been living under a rock somewhere and haven’t yet seen footage of Bret Michaels’ mishap on stage at the Tony Awards last night, you really MUST watch this clip!! He was just ending his performance with his band Poison when he was knocked off his feet by a giant piece of scenery.

And even if you have seen it before, this is a very close-up view. YIKES! When shows are live, things can definitely go very wrong!! According to the Associated Press:

Tonys spokeswoman Christina Stejskal says the rocker “missed his mark.” Though it looked it, he did not break his nose. Stejskal did not immediately know the extent of his injury.

I’ll post an update as soon as more details are released. I hope he’s ok!!!

For The Love Of Ray J: Ray J Talks About Why He Chose Cocktail

April 29, 2009 by Lynn

The star of For the Love of Ray J, Ray J himself was a guest on the show Reality Chat this week and he talked to the girls about why he chose Cocktail. They also go into a discussion about Danger. One of the interviewers thought he should have chosen her instead.

He tells us some of the things we didn’t know about Danger…trust me, he was right not to choose her. Then he tells how he really felt about the home visits. He was totally out of his element! He says that when visiting Cocktail’s parents, he ate goat and chicken with Sunny Delight in them. Yuck! And he still picked her! Watch:

K-Fed May Get Paid to Shed the Pounds

Kevin Federline

According to In Touch Weekly, Kevin Federline may follow in the footsteps of former football star Dan Marino, Tony Orlando and Larry the Cable Guy. Those three have been spokespeople for NutriSystem in the past and now K-Fed has been offered the opportunity to do the same.

You may remember that K-Fed got his start as a backup dancer. That was before Britney and before he was a single dad. Since being at home with the boys, friends estimate that he has put on at least 40 lbs.

K-Fed, 31, has been offered a deal with NutriSystem to promote its Men’s Plan program. “Kevin wants to lose weight, and he needs to make money,” the friend says. “He’s seriously thinking it over.”

Kevin’s representatives have denied that he’ll be doing the NutriSystem gig, but it seems like a great way to make a living. Heck, I’d do it if they offered me money to be a spokesperson! I say to K-Fed, Go For It!
