I Love Money: Pumkin’s Exit Interview
September 26, 2008 by Lynn

You stayed around for longer than probably anyone expected. Do you owe that to strategy or just being able to fly under the radar?
Completely strategy. With the exception of me, Toasteee, Megan and Brandi, I don’t think anyone in that house was playing strategically. Everyone else was playing, “Let’s keep around our friends.” They weren’t playing smart at all. So many people had the chance to send the right person home, and they were like, “Oh, that’s my friend.” OK, well, they’re going to beat your ass in the end.
Were you worried when it came time to betray the secret alliance?
Not at all. Hoopz basically promised me that if I could save Whiteboy when Toasteee was the Paymaster, then she’d have our backs. She owed it to us. We weren’t scared at all. But it’s just they way the cards were dealt with Hoopz becoming Paymaster. We wouldn’t have betrayed the alliance if we didn’t have to.
When Hoopz did let you go, did you feel betrayed?
To a certain extent. Her whole, “This is for Chance” was such bulls***. Chance was in the house for, like, five days. You don’t f***ing know Chance. Hoopz and I go back to Flavor of Love. We were best friends on that show. I didn’t betray her. I sent home Chance, who didn’t even have my back.
Celebracadabra: C. Thomas Howell Wins in Episode 5, Plus Unseen Illusion
May 24, 2008 by Jonathan
Episode 5 of Celebracadabra saw the charming, if underworked, C. Thomas Howell win, though it was not as clear-cut as his previous victory. Pussycat Dolls fans watched their favorite contestant, Kimberly Wyatt bid her farewell to the show.

Rock of Love 2: Interview With Angelique
February 3, 2008 by Lynn

Angelique, the French stripper that was just eliminated from Rock of Love 3, just did an interview with VH1. She was very open about being an exhibitionist, a stripper and a porn star. No matter what I think about Bret, I think he made the right decision by letting her go. Here’s an excerpt of what she had to say:
Do you have a particular club you strip in now?
I haven’t been back to work in about a month because I’ve been sick and busy traveling, but yeah, I work in the Spearmint Rhino in Las Vegas.
And that’s just one thing you do. You have your finger in every pot, as it were.
I’m pretty much a stripper for five years, full-ime. I also did a little bit of porn movies on the side. I did about six DVDs. But that was just for fun. I’m an exhibitionist and I wanted to have sex on camera. Everybody was so cool with me in the porn industry. I really had a good time, it was a good experience. I went on Howard Stern twice. He’s been really nice to me. Sometimes, when you go on his show, they put you down so much that you cry when you leave. But I had a lot of fun and they were cool to me.
You seem to have a lot of confidence, though. I can’t imagine anyone actually being able to make you cry. Do the haters get you down?
Oh no. Not at all. I know who I am and I’m very confident myself. It doesn’t really affect me what people say or think because I’m not going to change anytime soon for anybody.

I Love New York: Interview With Tailor Made
January 4, 2008 by Lynn

No coverage of the second season of I Love New York would be complete without also giving you Tailor Made’s take on things. He too sat down for an interview after the finale and talked about his feelings for New York, how he quit his job to come try to win her heart and how she gets alsong with his daughter. I like him a lot more after reading this interview. Let’s see if he has the same affect on you. Here’s an excerpt:
You entered the house already really into New York, right?
Oh, definitely. When I watched Flavor of Love, she was the girl right off the bat that I was attracted to. I like her physically but I also like her attitude. She’s really sassy, you know? She wears her emotions on her sleeve. She’s a very genuine person and you can really see that. She was very heartbroken after Flav, and then to have to see it again and then to have to see Tango do it to her. Especially when it happened with Tango, you see the pain in her eyes. She is such a wonderful woman and these guys keep playing her and it’s just like I don’t know if they see what they have in front of them.
If your relationship ends up working out, it will be a first for VH1 dating shows.
Well, I think the main difference is that with Tiffany, you could see the emotion. Otherwise, what’s the point? It’s just for TV, it’s just for money or whatever. It’s almost like this genre of reality dating is set up so 99 percent of the time it will fail. Unless there’s a real connection, it’s destined to fail. I just think [our success so far] shows our compatibility and how we were made for each other.

I Love New York: Interview With Buddha
January 4, 2008 by Lynn

A lot of people were surprised that New York chose Tailor Made and not Buddha. But in his interview, he says that the expected to lose. I’m not sure I understand why he continued on the show when he knew he wasn’t right for New York, but here’s what he had to say:
You didn’t seem too broken up about not winning New York’s heart.
Yeah I wasn’t. I expected to lose.
Oh really?
Yeah. When I got down to the Final Two, just judging by conversations going back and forth with New York, I expected to lose. It had gotten to the point that I had realized that the biggest factor is that she’s young. And another thing: it seemed like she was more attracted to the aspect of a rich man paying for her for everything and being basically a slave to her, than having a real man complement her. I don’t think she wanted someone that’s actually gonna bring her up and make her a better person. So I had already accepted I was gonna lose.
Was it disappointing to you at all?
It was disappointing when I realized that I couldn’t change the position that I would lose. That’s when I mourned, but you didn’t see that on TV.

I Love New York: Interview With New York
January 4, 2008 by Lynn

After the season finale of I Love New York 2 aired, New York sat down to discuss her new man, Tailor Made. Among other things, she put to rest the rumor that she’s pregnant. She swears she isn’t. She also tells us that she and Tailor Made have been living together since the show finished taping. Who would have guessed that?
And even though it’s not mentioned in this interview, I have been reading that he proposed to her again on the reunion show and she accepted. But we’ll have to wait for the show to air to see if that is true. Here’s a bit of the interveiw:
You told me earlier in the season that even though you were disobeying the terms of your contract, you and Tailor Made were seeing each other in the six months between the show’s taping and the finale airing. What was that like? How frequent was it?
We got home from Jamaica. He went to his place, I went to my place. We paid our bills, said hi to our families and then a week later we moved in with each other. We’ve been together seriously for the last six months. It wasn’t going to hotels and sneaking around and stuff like that. I toyed with that idea as far as giving our interviews and saying that but no, it was like day to day, night to night we were actually living together. We just grew so strong and it so important for people to know how real this relationship is that we couldn’t even wait. We couldn’t abide by the rules. Now we can laugh at it because it’s over but we could’ve really been in serious trouble.

I Love New York 2: Another Celebreality Interview
October 21, 2007 by Lynn

New York hadd so much to say when she was interviewed last time that Celebreality did another interview with her. Here’s an excerpt:
You’re known for asserting yourself, but I wonder if your mouth has ever gotten you in trouble.
New York: I think my mouth usually doesn’t get me into trouble. After I say something, the person I say it to takes it in and I see them thinking, like, “Hmm, she could be right.” It’s kind of like I’m a teacher of some sort. I like to teach people the err of their ways. It’s been working, so far. I mean look at me, I got a second season.
Do you ever think to yourself, “My job is so weird”? Because, really: it is. (follow the jump for lots more!)
The Salt ‘N Pepa Show: Celebreality Interview
October 14, 2007 by Lynn

Salt ‘N Pepa recently sat down to answer some questions about themselves and the new show. Here’s an excerpt:
It’s awesome to see you guys back together. How does it feel?
Salt: It feels good. It feels different. It’s a reality because it’s a learning experience this time around for both of us. I’m learning as I’m going, for the better. It’s good. New team, we’re in charge.
I found this quote from 1995 that I thought was prophetic. Salt told Mary Wilson in Interview: “There’s going to come a point in my life where I’m probably not going to want to make records anymore.” Salt, when did you start to realize that the music business wasn’t for you?
Salt: I don’t know when it started. I just got really, really tired and depressed. I had issues. I had self-esteem issues. I was severely bulimic and it was getting more and more out of control as the stress mounted, as the pace of being a superstar got more hectic. It got sour between [Pepa and I] because of other things. Miscommunication. We felt like we couldn’t express ourselves to each other. Other people got in the mix. There’s so many people in your life: managers, lawyers, record-company people. “You gotta do this. You gotta do that.” It just caught up with me. Since I was 18, Salt-N-Pepa just took off. It wasn’t a gradual thing. So this was a build up of many things as well as normalcy. I just wanted some normalcy. If I could put it in one statement, it would be that I felt like I had no control over my life. And that’s not a good feeling.

I Love New York 2: Celebreality Interview With New York
October 13, 2007 by Lynn

VH1 just published an interview with our girl, New York. Here’s a bit of what she had to say:
What was it like getting into this second season?
I was very excited, but you know at the same time I did have…not a doubt but just a tiny little hint of fear because I’m like, OK, we’ll possibly get another great group of guys and I’ll pick the wrong one. And then, I’d be reliving the whole thing with Tango again. You know like picking someone and then at the last minute, having it not work out.

The Pick Up Artist: Kosmo Tells What Has Happened Since the Show
October 1, 2007 by Lynn

VH1 published an interview with Kosmo after he won The Pickup Artist. Here’s a bit of what he had to say:
Why did you change your name to Kosmo?
Kosmo is my breakdancing name. I got it when I was 10-years old and I used to breakdance in Miami. People couldn’t figure out what I was thinking, so they called me Kosmo. I like it better. I’m out there, I’m not normal at all.Was the show experience harder than it looked?
Hell yeah! They made it look easy on TV. It’s like going out on the battle field. Going in that bus, everyone was shaking. I was sweating and stuttering and started to think about going home.Who did you think was going to be your biggest competition?
Joe W. He looked like he didn’t need any training at all. He seemed like he had no problem talking to women.
I thought Joe D. was gonna win it because he seemed like the underdog.
