Sober House: Episode 5 – Extras We Didn’t See

This week on Sober House, Amber woke up with a huge hangover from her date/party the night before. She went to talk to Dr. Drew about it all and got a strike against her in the house. Getting sober and staying sober is not as easy as it might seem.

We also saw Andy Dick talk to Dr. Drew about his addictions, especially to beer and how it has negatively impacted his relationship with his son and his career. After seeing his emotional confessions, it’s nearly impossible not to feel compassion for him.

Mary’s boyfriend/manager David showed that he’s a really negative influence on her and everyone else. Whata jerk. In fact, he upset Seth so much that Seth left the group and didn’t come home after they went out to a club. Everyone is afraid of what it means for Seth. But we have to wait until the next episode to find that out. In the mean time, here are some scenes we didn’t see this week.

Now that the house members are trying to learn to live life sober, they are trying out a lot of ways to have fun while they’re sober. Here’s a clip of them going surfing. They all took lessons and then hit the waves. Nikki faces her fear of the water, Rodney gets back on the surf board after years of not surfing.

Another one of the new activities they tried was a rousing game of kickball. Of course, they brought their own brand of humor to the game. (Andy says that he loves it when Mary runs…)

In this clip, wee see the housemates all sitting around he table in the morning talking about hwo they’ve known each other in the past. Apparently, Seth & Andy have known each other for at least 20 years, got sober together and went to AA together for a while long ago. And Amber reveals that she met Andy the first day she was in LA.

Seth Binzer sits down one-on-one to talk to Dr. Drew about what triggers his addiction and what he plans to do with his career going forward, now that he’s sober.
