New York Goes to Hollywood: New York is Turning Japanese!

This week’s episode of New York Goes to Hollywood is by far the funniest yet. Tiffany’s agent Chuck gives her a call and tells her that she is booked for a Japanese commercial about an energy drink. The commercial is for free and may or may not air in Japan.

But Tiff is stoked anyway. She and Lizza decide that she needs to brush up on Japanese culture so they go off to do some heavy research. First stop: dry cleaners.

Here Tiffany runs into the first obstacle in her plans to learn about Japan…the woman behind the counter is actually Korean to which Tiffany replies, “Is that the same as being Japanese, or like, not at all?” (You can’t make this stuff up people!)

Next stop…a nail salon.

We’re verging on completely offensive by now. Of course once again these women are not Japanese, although I couldn’t understand where they said they were from.

Finally Tiff and Lizza head to a Japanese restaurant, where they actually meet some Japanese people, but still she doesn’t learn much except that she doesn’t like the food.

Well, the day finally comes for the commercial shoot and Tiffany and Lizza arrive full of optimism until they see the craft services table.

The humor just escalates after this. First Tiffany tries to recite her lines in front of the director and she finds out that his assistant sent her the wrong lines. To her surprise, the director’s reaction is to beat the assistant over the head with the script. He was acting like a crazy person!

Then she has to try the energy drink which makes her completely gag.

Once Tiffany is in full costume, the shooting begins.

She has to take a sip of the drink during the commercial but she can’t quite seem to do it without spitting it back out.

Also, she is supposed to break a board with her hand, and gets pretty pissed off when she can’t do it. HILARIOUS!

Finally she gets a thinner board and is able to break it.

I’ve honestly never seen anything as ridiculous as this episode of New York Goes to Hollywood. I could watch her try to break that board over and over! Tune in next week for the return of Sister Patterson!
