Dr. Drew Apologizes For Tom Cruise Remarks
Apparently, Dr. Drew Pinsky hit a nerve with his remarks about Tom Cruise and his attraction to Scientology. In a Playboy article, Dr. Drew said that Cruise may have been drawn to Scientology as a result of “neglect” as a child. Cruise sent his lawyer, Bert Fields on a rampage, attacking the popular doctor from Celebrity Rehab and Lovelines, saying that he was a “posturing flake” who “pretends to diagnose people he’s never met.” These are strong words. Not the words of a dedicated legal professional, as much as a Jerry Springer Show wannabe. Where’s a folding chair, counselor?
Apparently, only Tom Cruise and his lawyer are allowed to express their expert opinions publicly. It amazes me that a qualified person, having met someone or not, needs to tiptoe around someone else’s beliefs, just because it has enough high profile believers.
