I Know My Kid’s A Star: The Winner Is…

© 2008 VH1.
Congratulations to McKenzie and her mother Shannon for winning I Know My Kid’s A Star.
McKenzie, whose mother was often hailed as the “most sane” on the show, took the top honor in the finale of the VH1 reality series.
Was McKenzie your favorite? Who did you want to win? What did you think of the mothers?

Um, no, sorry Victoria. McKenzie was sweet, sane, and talented. Cheyenne hit the same note every time she acted… and her singing didn’t get higher or lower, it just got louder and softer. The best kid won.

I’m so glad that McKenzie won! Both mother and daughter have a lot of class, and that’s what Hollywood needs a lot more of. I hope to see McKenzie’s career take off, she deserves it. Go McKenzie!

I think McKenzie showed the most growth throughout the show. She didn’t have the stage background that Cheyenne had…and honestly…I don’t think that Cheyenne did anything differently from week to week. McKenzie became a star.

McKenzie was great. I wish you the best. I never knew a kid from the small town of Addis, La had so much talent. This child showed maturity through this competition. McKenzie and Shannon both had that southern flare of hospitality. Cheyenne was good; however, her mother’s attitude had a lot to do with her personality. I’m not sure about the other shows, but in the finale, Cheyenne thought much too much of herself and put others down as a means of lifting herself up. That’s not very professional. Again, big UPS to McKenzie and her family!

I loved seeing McKenzie win. That child was genuine. When the same song was picked and McKenzie won it (with the coin toss) McKenzie was so worried that Cheyenne wouldn’t have a song. And she APOLOGIZED to both of them. It touched my heart. What a sweet little girl. She is a role model for kids. Good for you McKenzie. Get out there and become a STAR!!!!

I agree with everyone who loved seeing Mckenzie win. Her mom really has her priorities in order and she was so sweet. The girl who came in second was incredibly selfish and hateful and it was so easy to see where she got it. I only hope that seeing themselves behave in the manner that they did taught them someting. I could not beleive how UGLY 2nd place mom was to Mckenzie when she went to apologize about the song. That spoke volumes about her character… to be so nasty to a child trying to apologize when she didn’t even owe them an apology. And when 2nd place mom made that whoa-is-me comment about not having a man to support her I wanted to throw up. Like it’s everyone else’s fault that she got knocked up and kicked to the curb. It’s a shame she can’t accept accountability for her own actions. Here daughter is in danger of growing up a no-talent narcissist who think the world owes her everything and that being mean makes her cool. Go McKenzie!! You one on talent AND personality!!

Remember when McKenzie won the coin toss? She was so worried that Cheyenne wouldnt have a song, and she APOLOGISED to them. And Cheyennes mom told her to GO AWAY!!!!
I knew she was going to win. She was perfect. Cheyenne didnt have a vocal range unlesss you call how loud and soft you can sing a range.
I know McKenzie is gonna be a HIT!!!!!!

im so happy mckenzie won. from the frist episode i was like daaang, she is a STAR. cheyanne on the other hand; she thinks too highly of herself and she honestly isn’t that good. mckenzie is so sweet and i am so relieved that the 2 sane Christains in the house brought the title home.
CONGRADULATIONS!

Congratulations to MacKenzie…what a sweet and NICE girl she is. Cheyenne and her mother showed their true colours in the last 2 or 3 episodes. They both made fun of MacKenzie, who showed class, along with her mother. No wonder Cheyenne is so full of herself! Why wouldn’t she be…her mother keeps telling her how much better she is than anyone else there, and how she deserved to win. And the sarcastic comment “I’ve BEEN to Hollywood”? Well if she’s so good, why wasn’t she still there? Because others saw her (and mom) for what she is…selfish, conceited, and ready to put down her competition, to try to make her look good; e.g. the radio show…and Mom was so proud of her..that little ****** picked it up from Mom. All came out in the wash, so to speak, and the right child won!

Im glad mackenzie won. I feel sorry for chyanne to have to grow up with her mother being her manager, she will for sure ruin her career, and make everyone in hollywood want nothing to do with her.

I can’t believe the people on this site! You’re all just reiterating what the TV personnel WANT you to think! Try thinking for YOURSELVES for once, jeez! The only reason they picked Mackenzie was because they had a personal preference for her; it had nothing to do with talent, readiness, or who ACTUALLY deserved it (Cheyenne did).

Cheyenne didn’t deserve it because of the way they treated McKenzie and her mom. The show is about how the parents work everything out for their kids too, and saying “We can’t tlk to you right now” in a snobby voice when someone comes to apologize is NOT the way little people should be treated. Cheyenne has talent and all, BUT her voice just got louder and softer, not higher and lower. McKenzie won because she has talent, personality, and a super supportive mother.
I am the next child star!

I knew macanzie would win. She’s so sweet and very talented.Cheyenne thought to much of her self in the finally and so she was not rewared for that.

WOOT MCKENZIE!
She was the best out of all,and then she told her mom that she was gonna apoligize and she did but then that albino mom told her to go away, what a loser! Mckenzie derserves to win becuase she is cute, sensational, sweet, and obviusly talented. her Mom Shannon was a mopther first ten a manager to her. Cheyanne was wayy to selfish. Shes like in the beggining before they were about to go out on the stage for season finale shes was commentary saying I know Mckenzie’s not gonna win, shes not ready for Holly woood, im ready” like dude what the helll, shes way more talented. Mckenzie wone fair and square and im not gonna argue with that.
Cant wait to see her on comercials and stuff. I Support you all the way!

I actually really liked Cheyanne’s acting skills. BUT I was appalled at the way the mother acted in the last couple of episodes and unfortunately that rubbed off on the daughter as well. If she had Mckenzie’s mum should would have hit the home run.
I am delighted to see Mckenzie win as it is a statement about the mother as well and being grounded. She’ll do well.

I think that Chayenne was more talented than Makenzie but that Shannon was a better mom than Cheyenne. My mom raised my brother and I without my dad’s presence but she would have never hurt another child like Chayenne Mom’s did. By the way, I couldn’t believe that one of the comment above said that Makenzie deserved to win because she was Christian. What does religion has to do with talent??? Hello red neck people, wake up! We’re in 2008!

I’m so happy Mckenzie won!!! Congrats!! She deserved it, no doubt about it! She was the won who grew the most and learned the most throughout the competition. And even though she wasn’t the best at the beginning, as far as acting goes, for a child as young as 9 to be able to grow THAT much within that short period of time just shows what HUGE potential she has within the performing business. And as for her voice, she has a STUNNING and beautiful, NATURAL voice!! Cheyenne’s voice was not plesant to listen too because it sounded forced. All around Mckenzie is just a much more natural performer, it’s in her and its not something she needs to force. I think she has the talent to go far!! PLUS, she has a mother and father who support her, but who also have good heads on their shoulders and they know how to properly raise a child. Mckenzie and Shannon proved that they are ready to handle Hollywood and I wish them the best of luck!!!
And the thing that got me… Cheyenne said that she has been trying for a career for 10 years… I think that saus something about her talent. If she had the talent and the right personality, at some point in those 10 years, she would have gotten a job.
CONGRATS AGAIN! YOU GUYS DESERVED IT!

she couldn’t hae one, she was terrible, like i know she’s just a little girl but she was really really terrible, as if Cheynne didn’t win. I wonder if Shannon slept with Danny cause i mean seriously, yikes. Bottom line the show wasn’t called My Mom’s a MILF it’s looking for talent and they did not find any on this season.
And for the record, this show was sick as if parents would treat their children that way, gigi pam, rocky, shannon and the rest should be ashamed

I don’t know all the children tried really hard and did their best, despite some of the mothers that were present. But i agree with Sally this is no different than those Beauty Pagents they put little girls in, just sick and unfair. A little competition is healthy but the way these mother’s pushed their kids and spoke to them, the lessons they taught them was really quite shocking. I felt sorry for every child on the show but the two that came with their fathers, for some reason the fathers seemed more grounded. The others were just living through their children, especially rocky, my god she looked like a croos between steven tyler and a cracked out porn star. If anyone nailed Danny, it was her, besides was i the only one who caught her little comments suggesting that maybe something did happen or that perhaps she was willing to make something happen. “Hi Danny” she flirts when no one else says anyhting., Rocky, put down the crack pipe

yeah, Rocky was terrifying i feel sorry for her daughter she hasn’t a chance to be anything but a little version of her mother. From a man’s perspective, Rocky you may have had the hair, the oufits, the body and the makeup, but you didn’t need it. When you dress like that men only want to f*** you and that’s all we want. Great lesson for your daughter. Sort yourself out and give her a chance to be something more than a sex toy.
