The Shot: Ivan Was Eliminated

This week, the theme was difficult subjects. First, the individual challenge had each photographer shoot a fashion model with a difficult animal. Three had to pose with a camel, three with a stubborn monkey and three with a huge, ugly tarantula.
They all brought interesting techniques to the shoot and came up with some amazing photos in spite of the pressure and time constraints. All except for Piper. Piper goofed around with the lighting for the entire time and didn’t get a single shot with the spider because she was afraid to touch it.
When the photos were judged, Maria, Airic & Dean had the best shots and were made the team leaders. The teams were then tasked with shooting a modern fashion editorial using five models at once. All 5 models had to be in every shot and each person would be responsible for one of the shots.
The models turned out to be little kids. How cool! The kids were totally adorable!! Even though they were going to be hard to control for a photo, the potential for incredible shots was absolutely there!
(follow the jump for the rest of the recap!)
Dean was very condescending toward Piper and continually told her that she was forbidden to interrupt.
(I have to say that Piper did a lot better job at holding her temper than this Irish redhead would have!! If it had been me, Dean would have been told where to put the camera - and it wouldn’t have been comfortable!)
And poor Ivan was ordered through every detail of his shot, so Dean in effect got to take two shots. I think Dean should be sent home. He’s disrespectful to all the others.
Maria’s team not only worked with 5 energetic kids, but also with a big happy dog. They did an awesome shoot.
Airic’s team got some adorable shots of the kids but spent a lot of time setting up the shots. One little boy fell and was crying. He stopped cooperating and they almost didn’t get the final shot.
Dean’s team was the losing team. They chose not to send home Dean (even though they should have!) I’m devastated that Ivan was eliminated. He seems like such a special person! It should have been Dean!!

I’ve known Ivan Paric for several years, and although polite, he’s never seemed so shy and dominated as he as he was by Dean on the show. Too bad. He’s a really nice, honest guy, and I’ve seen some really good photos that he’s taken, MUCH better than the spaghetti dinner shot. I think it would’ve turned out differently for him if he had been on a different team.

I think the preview’s for next week’s show make me sick. They should have someone there who know’s how to handle animal’s, because it looked to me like the little monkey was being treated with some abuse, and i don’t believe in that for a show or anything for that matter. going to contact animal right’s to check in on thing’s. they would not like it if it was one of there kid’s being treated like that. say no more IT’S NOT RIGHT ANIMAL’S HAVE FEELING’S TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO EXCUSE

I agree that animals should not be used in entertainment. As a photographer, I like to shoot pictures of them in their natural habitat-not a studio. Dean definately should have gone home! It’s sad the agressive one is still on top.
