Bret Michaels to Follow in Flavor Flav’s Footsteps
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Bret Michaels, the frontman of ’80s pop-metal band Poison, will be looking for love in a new VH1 series from the producers of the network’s hit “Flavor of Love.”The cable network is set to debut a 10-episode reality series titled “Rock of Love With Bret Michaels” in July. The show will feature Michaels looking for a woman who can keep up with his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and not become jealous of his one true passion — performing — which is said to be the reason for and destruction of most of his relationships.

The women, who will live with Michaels in his “Los Angeles rock palace,” will be put through various challenges in a test of their devotion to him as well as their understanding of everything rock ‘n’ roll. Those who win these challenges will join Michaels on “wild and exclusive excursions,” while “those who can’t hang like true backstage VIPs will be escorted out in bona fide rock star fashion,” VH1 said.
VH1 has found success with other series featuring celebrities looking for a soulmate, including “Flavor of Love” and “I Love New York,” both of which have set ratings records for the network.
Poison, which came out of the Los Angeles club scene in the mid-1980s, scored hits with such tunes as “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Unskinny Bop,” but its popularity faded as grunge took over in the early 1990s.

I have to say that these ladies have it all wrong about Bret. He is in his 40s, yes, but he is the most energetic, good-looking rock star around. For one, he’s in great shape, not a drunkin loser like many of the 80s rockers, and he’s a real musician. So, back off! Rock on, Bret!

Bret Michaels is incredibly good looking for his age. Most other 80’s rock stars are beyond washed up and long forgotten, but Bret refuses to let himself fade into oblivion. He’s made so many albums, with or without the original members of Poison, not to mention he made his own movie (it wasn’t the best, I know…but he made one and got Charlie Sheen to star in it with him), has made several TV appearances, and was a guest judge on one season of Nashville Star. Plus, I met him a few years ago and not only was he quite attractive, he was also very sweet.
Yes, some of the things he says and does are corny. No, not all of his music is worth listening to or buying. Yes, he’s full of himself, but most rock stars are, and he has the right to be - he’s an extremely good-looking, accomplished man. If I wasn’t in a two-year relationship, I would find out where I could sign up…
PS: he’s been wearing that bandana since the early 90s. I wonder if he knew he was going bald and decided to hide it early. It doesn’t really turn me off that he’s balding because, you know, most men DO after a certain point in life.

okay i have seen Bret Michaels in concert last year and he is not bald under those hats that he wears.
He is still in good shape for his age and the women at the concert i went to loved him. he still has a good head of hair so you can hate on bret all you want lisa and and stacy and he has been wearing bandanas now like mary roach said

Bret is NOT bald under his bandana! He has great hair. He has been diabetic since he was 6 years old. He has had to stay in great shape. He races motorcycles, he works like a dog and is a decent person. When someone stole a sex video of him he didn’t try to make money off it! He went to court to keep it from being released because it is a personal matter! I promise you this; a TON of people will watch this show. More that Flavor and New York!

Flava Flav is a skank-a-thon. He is the most foul looking, speaking, smelling (I’m guessing here) individual to ever walk through the doors of VH1. The women on that show must have come from homes with NO parents because they clearly have NO self respect and will do anything to “win” the affections of a metal mouthed mental midget with a gigantic clock hanging around his neck! Can you say Sexually Transmitted Diseases? EW. ew. ew. Bret may be 44 and more distinguished looking, but at least he speaks ENGLISH and not some ghetto-fied ebonics that most people can’t even understand- Maybe that’s why they put a bunch of girls from the hood on there- they speak his language of smut. Get some self esteem, self respect and sense of self. Disgusting. Hopefully Bret will clean up VH1 a bit and send Flava-Gross packing.

“Distinguished looking”? Hmmm, I wonder what that means… I personally think Bret is HOT! As I said before, I would totally audition for that show if I wasn’t taken. I’ve had a crush on Bret since I was like… 5 and I saw him in the Unskinny Bop video. The girls on the show probably don’t care that he’s 44… I know I wouldn’t… I don’t care if he’s old enough to be my dad, he’s still GORGEOUS.
As for women competing for Flav, I imagine that most of them were probably not there for him. Most of them were models, actresses, singers, or reality TV whores - they were there for self promotion.

If Bret isn’t bald, then why aren’t there ANY pictures of him anywhere online without that damn bandana or corny hat? He’s washed up. Can you imagine Bon Jovi doing some dumb ass reality show? No, because they are still selling out arenas and have class. Bret Michaels played in a small bar in Deep Ellum in Dallas, TX a few years ago, and no, it didn’t sell out. Also, what’s up with the eyeliner? This show would have made more sense when they had a single in the top 40 in the last 10 years, but alas, they haven’t. Lisa is right. He’s bald.

If anyone else has watched Rock of Love they could agree with this…there has been a couple short scenes involving Bret without his hats and it sure seems like he still has a full head of hair to me. He has said the reason for the bandanas is so sweat doesn’t drip into his face and he just honestly likes the gypsy look. I believe it but your opinion is up to you. Everyone have a great day! :)

I posted early on before the show started that Bret was NOT bald under his hat. As you saw from the talk dirty to me show, he DOES have hair. What now? Come up with something else. I’m so glad Dallas is gone. I don’t like Rodeo, she looks too old for him. I hope he doesn’t keep Laci much longer. I hope he picks Brandi M. Also, does anyone watch Scott Baio? He is still very hot! Dallas was a total nut case,that girl should be behind bars. Acting like that toward animals what an idiot- she really made a fool of herself and dissing Bret like she did, I was shocked. I like Lacy she is cool. However none of them are good enough for Bret. I am very surprised that most of them made it to be on the show. I know he is thinking the same thing. Some were just flat out disgusting looking. Where did they do the casting call ? at the local strip club? Must have because it is nasty. Only one girl was very pretty and she was just kicked out she wasn’t all that smart, her name was Kristia she looked like Lindsay Lohan. She was just very nervous. Rodeo is too much like a man and huge. The only one left that in my opinion would be a good match is Lacey. At least she has a head on her shoulders and can sing.
I met Bret years ago and he was amazing, I partied with them all backstage and Bret and CC were the coolest. Bret is still drop dead gorgeous.
I would like to see him without the head scarf though.
Bret if you do read this, you still are wonderful and keep up the great music!

I have followed Poison since when they first came out in the 80’s. Not only was Talk Dirty to Me the first album that I owned but I still have it! Bret still looks great for his age…which isn’t old at all. And he has a great body and seems to be a loving and caring person. I have watched some of the show and feel shows like this are a waste of tv space but they are interesting none the least. I was surprised to see that Bret would have a show like this but sometimes that’s what celebrities do to stay in the spotlight. They find and audience and obviously he has one. I would have hoped he’d done a show to promote young aspiring artists but I guess the Flavor of Love bug bit him too. Non the less I like him he has great talent and a big heart and maybe this will open the door for him to do betting things with his talent.

PS…. By the way, Cher… Poison’s 3rd album, Flesh and Blood, just happen to go multi-platinum and reach number 2 on the American charts. So that sort rules out your thoery that they weren’t any good!
