Tori Spelling Marries (And Other Drama)

by Shea on May 9th, 2006

torideanSo Tori Spelling got married in Fiji this past weekend to Dean McDermott after a whirlwind romance.  A whirlwind romance that can really best be considered MESSY.

Why messy, you ask?

Well, they were both married to other people when they hooked up on the set of the made-for-TV movie “Mind Over Murder.”  As one might expect, McDermott’s ex-wife, Mary Jo Eustace, was none too pleased.  After 12 years of marriage and two young children, Mary lost her husband to Donna Martin.  I’d be pissed off too.

“It all could have been done so different,” Eustace tells Toronto’s Globe & Mail newspaper. “Right from the beginning, it was all about them. I confronted him once and said, ‘Do you know how (all this publicity) makes me and my family feel? Do not do this.’ He was like, ‘I did not even look at it that way.’”

Particularly upsetting to Eustace was the new groom’s comment to PEOPLE at his wedding last weekend. He said: “I’ve never had as much of a desire to get married and make a woman my wife as I’ve had with her. The feeling is overwhelming. We’re soul mates.”

Eustace considers the remark to be “the final nail.”

But, like any entreprenurial woman, Eustace has a plan of her own:

Eustace now is taking any lingering resentment and putting together a memoir. “The past year was a nightmare, but it was also funny,” she says. “I have to have a lot of humor about it. I have to embrace that side of it or I’d dis-empower myself.”

When news of the book was first reported, Spelling and McDermott told the New York Post: “It’s opportunistic and undignified that she would want to exploit her former marriage for monetary gain. We only wish her the very best.”

“Undignified?”  Well… isn’t that kind of calling the kettle black?

Mary Jo Eustace wishes they have done things differently uh? So why would she write a book about her personal life and publish it to make money? Do you thing writing is a good way to express your feelings and let things go? I do too, but I don’t see Jennifer Aniston publishing anything about her life/breakup with Brad Pitt…

Um…Way to not have a mind of your own maggie, and way to not stop and think b4 you speak. There are other reasons to write a book and have it published. Such as the telling of ones story, therapy and trying to help others who have gone threw a similar situation. If you knew anything about Mary jo (or Canadians in general for that matter).. you would realise that she isnt the type of person to exploit a situation to make money. there were talks of a movie, and she turned it down. So i think your assumption of the situation is..un-founded. After all its Dean that married the worlds ugliest d list celeb in hopes of furthering his failing career. Clearly it worked out for him. :)
